Impact & Outcomes
Over the past five years, Jason has delivered 130+ food literacy workshops to over 3,000 students across 20+ school boards in Ontario. His work focuses on helping students better understand food, health, and sustainability. Sessions are aligned with Canada’s Food Guide and are intentionally non-prescriptive—expanding awareness and normalizing plant-forward eating rather than telling students what to eat.
Post-workshop data shows consistent shifts in openness to change:
57% of students say they plan to eat more plant-based foods
36% say they are now considering it
93% in total express openness to increasing their plant food consumption
As Canada’s National School Food Program expands, this work is increasingly focused on supporting the integration of plant-forward options into school food systems—aligning student demand, public health guidance, and procurement practices.
Looking ahead, the focus is on scaling this model through partnerships with schools, industry, and funders to support broader adoption of plant-forward meals, and increase the availability of food literacy resources focused on plant-based eating and alternative proteins.
